Privacy Policy
This policy applies to Field Notes (“we”, “us”) and the preview website at briskflora.com (the “Service”). It explains how information is used when you visit the Service. This is a static editorial site with no accounts, subscription database or server-side contact-form database. Advertising may be introduced in public deployment, with clear disclosure and consent controls where required.
1. Information we collect
Personal information
You can read the Service without registration. If you choose to use the contact form, it opens your own email application; the message and any name or email address you include are sent directly by that application, rather than stored in a website database.
Usage and technical information
A public hosting provider may process ordinary request information such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, referral URL, timestamps and approximate location inferred from IP addresses in order to deliver and secure the Service.
Cookies and similar technologies
Advertising or analytics technologies may be introduced in public deployment. Where law requires it, non-essential storage or processing will be presented with the appropriate consent choices. This build stores one optional visual-effects preference in local storage.
2. How we use information
Information is used only to deliver, maintain and secure the Service; respond to correspondence; understand operational issues; comply with legal obligations; and improve editorial presentation. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information for money or other consideration.
3. How we share and disclose information
Information may be handled by service providers such as hosting, CDN, font delivery or email providers acting for the Service; disclosed where law or safety requires it; transferred as part of a genuine business reorganisation; or shared with your clear consent. Providers should be bound to use information only for the service they provide.
4. Data processing details
Where applicable, processing relies on consent, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, or legal obligations. Technical logs should be retained only as long as needed for security and operations, normally no more than 90 days. Correspondence should be retained no longer than 24 months unless a longer period is legally required. Hosting or email services may process data outside your country; any public launch will identify the actual provider and applicable safeguards.
5. Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to a static publication, including encrypted transport where available, access controls and periodic review. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
6. Third-party services
The Service loads display fonts from Google Fonts and links to independent source institutions, image licensors and reference services. Those parties may collect technical request information under their own privacy policies. We do not control their practices.
7. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, receive, object to processing of, or withdraw consent for personal information. To make a request, use [email protected]. You can also manage local storage and cookies through your browser settings.
8. Personalised advertising and opt-out
Field Notes may use personalised advertising in a public release. Advertising partners, including Google where used, may use cookies or similar technologies subject to the choices and consent required in a visitor's region. Google provides controls at My Ad Center and Google ads settings, and explains how it uses data on partner sites and apps. Additional opt-outs are available from the Digital Advertising Alliance and Network Advertising Initiative.
9. Applicable privacy laws
Where GDPR, UK GDPR, LGPD, CCPA/CPRA or similar laws apply, we aim to honour the rights described above. Field Notes does not sell personal information as those laws define sale. The Service is not directed to children under 13. Before a public launch, the operator, hosting arrangements and jurisdiction-specific disclosures will be confirmed here.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us so that we can review and delete it where required.
11. Third-party links
Links can lead to services we do not own or control. We are not responsible for their content, privacy practices or data handling; review the policy of every external service you visit.
12. No sale of personal data
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information collected through the Service. Any service-provider processing is limited to operating, protecting or maintaining the Service.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy when the Service, hosting or applicable law changes. Revisions will be posted here with a revised “Last updated” date. Where a material change requires notice, we will provide it in an appropriate way before it takes effect.
